A grungy, antique ad for Paris-produced scents originally published in the December 25, 1904 edition of La Mode Illustrée. The ad is bookended on each side by a lovely drawings of young ladies. Shows a very distinctive art nouveau style both in the design of the ad as well as in the shape and form of the perfume bottles. Is she waiting for someone or is she just taking a break from her family? Her outfit was supplied by Mlle. Louise Piret, located at rue Richer, 43 in Paris. Victorian Illustration: Happy New Year (from 1865)


This is a black and white illustration that originally appeared in an 1865 issue of Arthur's Home Magazine. It shows a portrait of a Victorian girl clutching her favourite toys, enclosed within an oval frame accompanied by the caption "Happy New Year" at the bottom of the frame.
